How did nobody tell me that the Bruins are playing the Blackhawks for the Stanley Cup? I'm going to have some pretty serious rooting conflicts here...

I grew up in the Midwest with an alchoholic mother, no father and a fiercely independent spirit. At 18, I defied the advice of virtually everyone who should have cared about me and left for school 1,000 miles away. I intended to return home eventually, but a funny thing happened on the way... I ended up in an entirely new city, with an entirely new life, a great job, great friends, an adorable boyfriend and a whole new perspective. I also seem to have acquired a 15 year-old along the way...

Me too! One of my childhood friends plays for the Bruins and the Blackhawks have a couple of boys from my hometown (hockey is a religion up here)!
Oh. My bad. I probably should have informed you of this.
I'm rooting for Boston because I find Chicago to be especially annoying.
I have told you this probably seven times in the last two weeks. Is this a sign that we have known each other for too long, the ignoring?
I was on the phone with my aunt and uncle this morning (he was born/raised in Boston; they reside in Maine). He asked me which team I'm cheering for. I said, BLACKHAWKS ALL THE WAY. He promptly hung up the phone. hahaha.
Kari - Some of the Bruins are my neighbors, which I guess isn't really all that noteworthy:-)
A - Yea, this is definitely on you...lol. Chicago especially annoying?!?! Wha wha what?!?!?
SHR - I stopped listening to anything you say about sports in about 2004. I listen to the rest of it, though, I promise:-)
Nilsa - I am just going to maintain no real rooting interest and will just retroactively cheer for whoever wins. Although, frankly, if the Bruins win it will be more fun around here, so I am probably on their side.
Can we fix any of them up with So Midwestern?
