The Default Position

I want to send a little shout out to everyone that did Blog Secret yesterday, it was really fun! And, I imagine a lot of people feel better about things that they wrote just because they got to say it, and a friendly audience got to read it. Also, it seems like Nilsa was the brains and the organization behind it, so she gets a special shout out. Great job!

Munchkin is feeling much better, which makes me happy:-). She didn't quit make it all the way through school yesterday, but she got through all of her classes, and just bailed on her orchestra practice at like 4:00. (In case you never read that part, she is in school until 5:00 every day. They have classes in the mornings, and then "stuff" in the afternoons...art, drama, music, sports, field trips, etc.) She is supposed to play basketball from like 3:00-5:00 today, so I imagine she will want to skip that and go home at 3:00. And, maybe I will make her even if she doesn't want to!

So, I have a random question for everyone. I feel like everyone has a "default position" at home. It could be sitting in a certain chair, or on a certain couch with your feet on a certain table. Whatever it is...I feel like everyone has a place that they put themselves when they are relaxing at home. I have found that, at least recently, mine is laying head to toe with Munchkin on the sofa. She lays at one end, and I either sit or lay at the other, depending on whether I am working on my laptop or not. It's cozy:-)

Now, if she is not around, the default position totally changes. The Boy and I don't fit that way, so we need to work a totally different set-up! But, on a standard weeknight when we are all home...you can find me and Munchkin all tucked in and cuddled on the sofa.

So...do you have a default position at home? If so, what about it makes it so comfortable?

p.s. We made chocolate chip cookies last night, and I intend to eat the entire rest of the batch tonight:-D

I alternate between Indian style (is that not PC? Should I say criss cross apple sauce or something?) and stretched out, using my ottoman while sitting in the corner of my sofa--that way I get the view of downtown.

Aghhh! I want chocolate chip cookies!

Porter and I have default positions. However, we both kind of 'race' for the 'inside' of the couch. The inside is really just the side closest to the kitchen. I think it's also closest to the heater. And it is DANG cold lately!

I most definitely do have a default position. Because my dog is not allowed on the couch (my husband's rule, not mine), my husband gets the whole couch to himself, while I sit/lay in the chair-and-a-half with the pooch. It's a tight squeeze, but I love it.

umm I guess I curl up in my oversized chair, blanket, and feet up on the ottoman :)

Awww, thanks for the shout-out. =)

I'm usually sandwiched between Sweets (husband) and SoMi (dog) on the couch ... but, lately, SoMi has felt entitled to pick herself up and wedge herself between us. She's a little snot who has a life-lesson coming her way soon. ha.

We definitely have default positions! I sit in the same spot on the couch and Paul sits next to me. We both have our feet propped up on the ottoman and of course a super cozy blanket for the two of us all cuddled up. My dog is not allowed on the furniture either so she usually nestles her way on the floor below us laying on my croc slippers. She always lays on them b/c she knows I don't go anywhere without them and I won't sneak out of position on her without her knowing. She's the noziest dog!

I sometimes worry that I'm going to end up with bed sores from always sitting in the big, comfy chair. I also sit Indian style. Ally, try sleeping that way. It rocks. You can curl up while on your back.

Oh yes....I curl up on the couch toward the left side next to the coffee table so I can rest my drink...there I lean against two pillows and have a blanket nearby to get cozy with....I am there whenever I need to feel safe....

Good question!

I'd say it's curled up with my legs underneath me, on the left-hand side of the sofa with Sweepie snuggled in on my lap. But when Ray's there he nicks that seat and I sit curled under his arm with Sweepie in between us :) I have no idea why it's comfy... I just like cuddling :)
