Thoughts

I finished class at 2:30, and the realization that I have done everything I need to do before tomorrow hit me like a freight train. Whoa...I am having two babies tomorrow.

I don't want to say that I haven't thought about it, because I obviously have...but it just suddenly really set in that this is happening, and it is happening in approximately 20 hours. Like a sudden wave of "Oh shit".

I am just a little bit nervous about the surgery, but not terribly. I would say that I was probably more nervous about the surgery I had in the summer of 2007 than I am about this...although this one has a lot more lead-up to it. I think that I feel better knowing how common this kind of surgery is...it makes me feel better knowing that the doctors do it all the time.

I am going to miss being pregnant a little bit. Had I been able to be more up and about, I would really miss it, but I have basically enjoyed it. I feel great and have never really had the thoughts that I hear from a lot of women about just aching for it to finally be over with.

Mostly, I just feel ready...and I am not afraid to report that this is a new feeling as of, oh, about this morning. I don't have any loose ends to tie up or errands to run or anything that I have to do before the babies get here, I am just plain ready to go to the hospital and have it all done.

Now, am I ready to be a mother? Not quite as sure about that part...I will let you know in a week or so...but I am ready to have the babies.

In the meantime, though, this is all you will hear from me for the next five days, at least. Smoking Hot Roommate has my password, so she will post the details Friday or Saturday if she remembers, but I don't envision myself blogging from the hospital:-P

And when I come back, I am bringing two baby girls with me!!!

You are totally ready to be a mother -- and you are going to be a great one to your two new little girls. Glad you feel ready -- will make everything go much more smoothly. Take all the time you need in the hospital -- don't go home until you are ready. Enjoy your last night -- if you have time write your thoughts out for your girls -- they will enjoy reading it when they have their children!

Whoo Hoo! Best wishes tomorrow for a smooth, seamless delivery!!

I've thought about you a lot this week. . . . I've been put on bed rest myself (I'm 29 weeks) but it's really working well for me, so there's a possibility I'll be able to go back to work next week.

Anyway, Congrats Congrats Congrats!!!

I can't believe how fast this 9 months has gone!... well, it has for me anyway, but I wasn't the one carrying babies and going to school :) Anyway, I think you will be a great mother (especially since you already are!).

Congrats! I hope everything continues to go smoothly for the delivery!

Wishing you all the best...enjoy the last hours all by yourself (and the Boy) once you come back home your days and nights will be crazy!
Take all the time you need...I can tell you from experience that healing after a C-sec can be hard, but I can also tell you that I went home as soon as the docs allowed me to because I wanted to be home with my babys instead of the hospital, it just is a way nicer atmosphere than a hospital. And if you have a lot of help and can rest it isn't that hard.

wishing you smooth sailing tomorrow... looking forward to hearing about the babes!
Hang in there, momma to be! Lesser women than you have made it through the experience of delivery and being a new mom!

Oh good luck! You are going to be the best mom ever because you already are to Munchkin!

My friend just had a C-section almost two weeks ago, and she was absolutely fine. You are right, it's very routine, and everything will go off without a hitch.

Can't wait to hear about your baby girls!

Somewhere along the way I missed that you were having TWO babies. I am SO excited for you! Munchkin will be such a good big sister, and I'm so glad she's still just down the road. You are going to be an amazing mother AGAIN!
