Is 27 Dresses attainable?

I got word yesterday that my taxes are done, and I am getting a nice refund. Whoo hoo! Surprisingly, this is actually kinda new for me...in years past I got much smaller (or no) refunds. We changed the way that I file this year, but I will spare you the details (unless you really, really care.)

So...kind of an open question to all of you...how many weddings have you been in? As a bridesmaid or groomsman or flower girl or whatever. And more importantly, what seems like a reasonable, normal number? I have been in four, and I feel like there are another 5-6 that I will likely be in at some point.

But I am seriously worried that Munchkin is going to set some kind of a record for this...

She was a flower girl in my cousins wedding. And a bridesmaid in her brother's, Smoking Hot Roommate's and Big Sis'. She is my maid of honor. And now her favorite teacher (and soccer and basketball coach and all-around buddy) has asked her if she would be in her wedding this summer. Not really as a bridesmaid, but she wants her to do a reading and to be part of the wedding party.

That would get her to six weddings...at age 14!!! She will definitely be in BFFg's wedding whenever she gets married, and at least a few more cousins...which could possibly get her to like 10 before she gets to college! I am not ruling out the possibility that she breaks the number set by Katherine Heigl (just about my least favorite actress, btw) in that asinine move last year.

This is ridiculous, right? I mean...I feel like most people are probably in like 4-6 weddings over the course of their life, right? Am I way off on this?

Haha. This is an interesting post. Truthfully, I will be in far more than 4-6 weddings over the course of my life. Currently, I'm at 5 and I have six siblings left to get married. I assume I will be in all of their weddings and around seven more weddings of close friends. (That is excluding one or two in case someone elopes/hates me by that time.) So that puts me at a very likely 18 weddings. And that's not including any cousins (I could certainly see myself being in one or two of their wedding parties).

I think most people would be in about 12 weddings. It makes sense that I would be in more due to the herd of siblings I have.

Fun post! I've been in 4 weddings and can count several others that I will probably be in when they decide to tie the knot. Munchkin has quite the start for sure! I would say you are right on track for the norm of weddings most people are in. Speaking of...how are YOUR wedding plans going. You never mention it!!! Details, please!

I can think of six weddings that I've been, but I might be missing one....and the majority of my closest friends are not married. But as my friends get older, I'd think they would be less inclined to have a bunch of bridesmaids. Munchkin better not join a sorority in college b/c that seems to cause a dramatic increase in the number for most girls....

Well, I know I was a flower girl 4 or 5 times, and I was a Junior Bridesmaid. Then, I was a bridesmaid 7 times that I can remember since college. That would make 12 weddings. Still not what Munchkin will likely do, but I think it's craziness! But so much fun!!!

Perhaps in these tough economic times she can charge a nominal appearence fee ..... No?

I have been in a few, but I just realized after reading this that I probably won't be in any more. Or it might just be a really long time since my sisters are so young.

I have been(don't laugh):

The Bride: 3x
Bridesmaid: 1x
Flower girl: 1x

Yes, folks...I have been the bride more than I've been anything else put together.

Let that be a lesson to you kids. Don't get married at 18. Or again at 20. You aren't ready. Even if you are serving your country. You probably aren't "different" either. You can't even go buy a beer yet.

I have never been something like flower girl or braids maid (partly because it is just not like that in Germany) but so far I have been to 10 weddings and have to go to one in 3 weeks time. Those have been 4 close friends and 6 cousins. The one in 3 weeks is an old school friend of mine.
There are still 2 cousins unmarried and a few friends as well.
M's brother is still not married too.
I am quite sure I will at least get to about 14 weddings within the next 2 to 5 years.
Later on,... I don't know.

I was a flowergirl once for a friend of my parents' when I was... six I think. I cried throughout the service hehehehe.

I didn't realise so many people had such big weddings. I must be in the minority with the whole I Want To Elope mentality ;)

We also changed how I did my taxes and HELLO! Big refund. Sometimes being married to a tax attorney is not a bad thing. (Of course this means I haven't seen him in weeks....)

I am "always the bridesmaid never the bride"! I have been in **drumroll** 20 weddings! Only one of them was a family member. I was 18 the first one I was in. When 27 dresses came out - I heard from a ton of people saying "they made a movie about you!". I think I just have my new blog post:) THanks!! BTW - first time I viewed your blog - sign me up!
