Fore!!!

I hope everyone had a good weekend...and that the post-Cinco de Mayo hangovers weren't too bad. Tequila...ain't she a bitch. (Actually, I love tequila...more than other hard liquors, but I digress.)

The leaves are finally out:-) It started at the end of last week, and really exploded this weekend...green, green everywhere and I love it! I'm sure we still have a bunch of shitty weather ahead of us this month, but the end is clearly nearby!

It dawned on me yesterday that there will really be no weekend posting from me for a while. Once summer starts, we will spend just about every weekend at the beach, and I just can't see myself posting much from there. I guess I won't know until we start going and I see if the mood strikes, but I doubt it. That is my most favorite place in the world, and I don't really like to do much typing while I am there:-)

Headed to Chicago with Munchkin next weekend to see all the families, and mostly my little Tinkerbelle:-)

I am thinking of taking up golf this summer...anyone have any thought on this? It seems like every guy I know plays, and a lot of women do, too. Smoking Hot Roommate is ridiculously good...but Big Sis never really played, and we were talking about starting together. I guess that means going to the driving range and maybe taking lessons...? I have been to the driving range a few times, and I have played mini-golf, too...it can't be that hard, right? (Yes, I am kidding...)

Not gonna lie...much of this is related to SHR flipping on TV and me thinking that one of the girls had one of the cutest little outfits I have ever seen on, and thinking I would totally like to dress like that... (her name is Natalie Gulbis...and apparently she is quite the sex symbol. Who knew golfers could be sex symbols?)

So that is my goal for the summer...to take up golf. We'll see how it goes...

I used to play golf all the time. It's a very mental game. I quit because I started to suck. So much that it seemed like I was playing field hockey rather than golf.

Ahh, something I can comment on. I spent the majority of my youth on a golf course. It was my summer job and I got to play for free. I'd say go for it. It's fun to get into. Great for networking too. I once had an internship at a company that had a golf league. They needed an alternate one week so I played. The next week the president of the company asked me to play with him. A lot happens in business on the course.

I'd start out with group lessons if you can find them. They are cheaper and will help you with the basics. Someplace like the YMCA might have postings. It will be a multi-week program which is better than paying a pro $50 for a half hour.

Also, I'd get Munchkin involved. There are usually a ton of junior leagues over the summer.

I'm playing my first round of the year this Thursday.

Natalie Gulbis? Yeah, I'd let her do me.

brookem - Should we take bets on how long it takes for me to hurt someone?

Ella - "Started to suck"? Does that mean you were good and then got bad?

GLB - I figure I am much better off doing it with Big Sis so I am not alone. And that is the big reason...everyone else does it and it seems like quite the social activity. And getting Munchkin started is a great idea, too...she says she wants to try, so we will bring her, too.

Double A - You seem really familiar...do I know you some other way:-P

I don't have the attention span for golf. I appreciate the clothes and the dedication some have to the game, but everyone I know who plays gets crazy about it and then it's turns into this ugly 'cult-like' thing. I limit myself to pitch and putt. It's still fun, takes a bit longer than mini-golf and let's me have an excuse to go shopping for appropriate clothes. Anyway, despite the 'cult-like' reference I do hope that you enjoy golf. It can be relaxing. And as for tequila, I love it to. And now that I've left the longest comment ever, I can go.

Still just me said...

Only time I ever played, I was thrown of the course by the golf marshall for horseplay in the cart. I also didn't know you couldn't bring your own beer!

i am so envious you will be spending your weekends at the beach. :)

golf lessons sound fun. try it at least once and give it a shot and see how you like it.

i've gone to the driving range to hit balls and it's pretty fun.

Kate - It is a distinct possibility! We will see...

Brandy - I love long comments! The longer the better (who has a joke for that one?!?)

SJM - Can't bring your own? I don't think I like the sounds of this...

Trixie - Stop on by...there are spare bedrooms:-)

Princess - That is the appealing part, that it is a really social game.
