Is tax day a bad birthday?

Who knows what tomorrow is? Well, really today, since it is 11:45 and most of you will read on Thursday during the day...

I watched Idol tonight, and actually thought that the guys were pretty good. Overall, they were better than the girls, but I think that the girl with the dreads is the best of the whole bunch overall. At least that is my impression after some very sparse early season watching. Not sure what is up with Kara, she seems to be overly emotional and weepy...something is going on there.

So, let's see...I had a totally uneventful doctor's appointment this morning. No ultrasound, so just a matter of seeing the doctor, having weight, blood pressure and urine tests taken and an oh-so-pleasant cervix length check and pre-term labor swab test. Looks like we are going to schedule a C-section sometime around week 38 just to have it on the books. Obviously, they can come whenever they want, but it would be kinda neat to have a date to look forward to.

It is like 90% that I will have a C section. Both girls are in the wrong position and have been pretty consistently. The chances of them both lining up before I deliver is pretty slim, so the section seems likely. Totally fine with me...my great fear is going through a long labor, delivering one of them naturally and then having the other get all twisted and have to have the section anyway. I am ok with either labor or the recovery of a C section. But I don't want to do both!!!

So, since I sort of get to pick their birthday...I am taking suggestions:-)

Tax Day is a GREAT birthday 'cause it's mine. Spring babies are the best! Glad to hear everything is still good with the babies.

oh my, here comes the math.. Let me see, I think your due-date was in early May, right? Usually a pregnancy takes about 40 weeks, so you're saying they want to plan the C-section in your 38th week.. Would that be in mid-April, then? Am I totally off the track?
3 of my most favourite men have their birthdays in April, my grandpa dad and only brother. So in my book great dates would be the 2nd, 14th and 21st.
If I got my calculations right I would propose the 14th of April. 04/14/2010 is a nice date- and the Astrological New Year :)

Hm,... is it possible that you made a mistake with week 38??? That would be August,... ;-)

What is the boy's work policy on leave for delivery of babies?? I know many of my friends have scheduled their C-sections to take best advantage of the policy.
Can't believe they will arrive soon!!

April 23rd is the birth (and death) date of Shakespeare ... that's kind of poetic.

(It's also Shirley Temple's birthday .... and what little girls don't love Shirley Temple??)

Kathleen - Turns out there are two of you in here:-)

Lisa - Yup...right on the money! 38 weeks is April 20, I think.

Steffi - Not the 38th week of the year, which is indeed in August! The 38th week of my pregnancy:-)

Amy - Another vote for tax day

Kari - Very good point, we should check on that.

Anne - Gee, I remember when you used to be a blogger:-P

Jenny - Did he really die on his birthday? That is weird! Or did someone maybe make that up over the 400 years since he died...

April 23 - It's my precious niece's bday that day!

Also - tax day comes with the dreadful feeling of "did I file" "did I file correctly" "am i going to get audited" - so who wants those feelings on your babies birthday!

yay for babies!!!

Maybe Kara is weepy because she is hormonal and pregnant? She did get married recently, right?

Also, I join the ranks of April birthdays, but mine falls after your 38 week mark.

I think you should pick the 4th. I always wished I was born then so I could have had a birthday on 4.4.04 and 4.4.44. Your girls could have 4/4/44 someday! My dreeeam! haha

All righty then, when you say 20th I will finalize on the 21st :)

That is really nice that you'll know the day. I'm starting to freak out that I have no clue when our little one will arrive and I'm scared my water will break in the mall or something!

I vote for April 16th. That is the day you can breathe a sigh of relief and know that you're finished with taxes for a whole year...and you can sit back and wait on that (hopefully) refund check.

I'm a tax day baby, and it's never been a problem. People tend to remember it's my birthday because it's tax day. The 13th is Thomas Jefferson's birthday, so that's also an auspicious date!
