Only tepid response on the random politics questions, so I will leave them out there for another day or two and see if anyone else cares to chime in. Then I will move on to the next section of the discussion...unless no one cares, in which case I will drop it:-) So far there have been only a couple of comments and two private emails.
Munchkin went to the Red Sox game last night...are you all jealous? She went with a friend and her friend's father and uncle and I think I may have seen her on TV. Thankfully it was not a close game at all, so they were able to leave really early (they left after it was 13-1 in the fifth inning). If it had been closer, they would have stayed until the end and she would have been a very sleepy and grumpy kid today;-).
I should confess that I had a chance to go to the game tonight, but I am not going to. I know that sounds awful, but it is gonna be cold and I would have to find a sitter as well. I would rather have chicken fingers, then put on my jammies and watch from home:-) I will leave the ticket for someone who counts as a real, actual fan, and not just someone who lives with two of them.
Plus, I have to get going really early tomorrow for work stuff, so I would like to get to bed kind of early, too...sitting at the baseball park until 12:30 would not really fit in with that plan... I am sure I will get bombarded with curse words from the Red Sox fans that read here, but I am prepared for that...lol. I don't profess to be that big a fan:-) And before you ask, no, I can not give it to you...lol. I was invited, but it is not my ticket.
On that note, the warm weather is totally gone. It is really kind of raw today, and is going to get even colder tonight...shit, I hate fall:-( I think I should start planning warm winter getaways...that will cheer me up. Any ideas?
Munchkin and I (and hopefully The Boy, still up in the air) are going to Chicago next weekend. I haven't been out there in a LONG time...since before my father's family came out to visit last summer. I miss my little sister:-) I guess that sounds kind of odd since I really barely even know her, but I definitely miss her.
It will also be good to catch up with friends and family, too...I am feeling a bit out of touch with them all. BFFb has a new girl in the picture, which means I need to go out and pass judgement on her...lol (I get veto power, after all:-)). I am sure she is lovely, he generally associates himself with only the finest girls:-D
Chicken fingers tonight, and we will either go late so we can watch some of the game there, or go early so we can be home in time for Munchkin to do her homework before it starts. I think it will just be the two of us, tonight:-) Aren't we cute?

My suggestion, is visit Honolulu, Hawaii...My duaghter and I spent 2 weeks there last year at Christmas time, it was MARVELOUS!!!
I get it, it can be such a hassle to go to big events like that. But then again I am not a Red Sox fan, so maybe I can't comprehend.
Oh yeah and Florida is a great place to winter!
I guess you are lucky to even get tickets, unless the ticket mess there isn't as bad as it is for here. Rockies tickets sold out in I think less than two hours, and you were only limited to four tickets per person. This was after the Rockies decided to sell them online only, and the server crashed!
The police department have bulked up on game coverage for when and if they play in Denver. Colorado sports fans are nuts!
I flew up to Boston yesterday (and back this morning) for last night's game. It was COLD but so fun!
As far as a place to go in the winter, no place tops the British Virgin Islands. Fly direct from Boston to St. Thomas.
Maria - I have never been to Hawaii and I would love to go, but I have two problems: 1) It takes forever to get there, and 2) It is absurdly expensive once you do.
e.b. - I have observed them up close, and most of them would not understand...lol. I go to Florida a lot:-) Disney a couple years ago, and the SHR-clan has a house in Jupiter than I have been to:-)
SJM - There really weren't many for sale. Most are season tickets (these were), so there were only a limited number available for sale, and those they distribute through a lottery to buy them. Buying them now is absurd...on eBay, a pair of bleacher seats has been going for about $1,500.
EAJ - That would also allow me to cross something off the list of "Places Munchkin has been thatI haven't":-P
I can't believe you aren't going?!?!?!? You are NUTS!! I would be there in a heart beat if I could. I tried getting tickets through the lottery and couldn't and ebay and sub hub is ridiculous!!
Even if you don't love the Sox it's the World Series!!!
GO RED SOX!!!!
